TWISTED Crown: Version 2!
Summer is all about taking it easy with your hair….at least in my world! It is too warm to be bothered with blowdrying, flat ironing, or curling to perfection. My goal is always to come up with simple styles to share with you guys that complete your look, are easy to do on your own, and give a little more creativity than a simple ponytail. (Even though there are moments where the ponytail is a perfect option….)
Summertime is the perfect opportunity to play with non-heat-styled looks. It gives your hair the chance to get healthier from the perfect spring curls, and to me fits the boho summer mood. I know now being in Italy I am SO glad to switch it up: it’s just too hot to be curling my hair every day and it makes me feel like I’m living the perfect gypsy life….(one can dream!)
As you know I have been playing a lot lately with twists. I have been mastering different versions of this idea for lots of reasons. A big reason is that I am terrible at Dutch braiding my own hair, and it’s a fresh idea on the braid since we have seen it so much: even though I love it! I started this twist phase with the twisted crown, and now I wanted to show you the same technique but with a different placement.
I took this placement to the center part and played with a few different versions within this quick tutorial. To be honest, a lot of the times when I style my hair I have a general idea, but let the hair almost show me what it wants to do…(not to sound all hippy-dippy!) What I mean by this is that if you are too determined for a style to look a “perfect” way, it’s never going to end up perfect in your eyes. Honestly, my best hairstyles are when I don’t have a plan and start playing. That’s when the creativity really starts to happen and magic is created.
Again as I’ve mentioned before: I like to show you the technique and some of my ideas, but what I’m really hoping to do is inspire you to try these and also create your own!
As you’ll see in the video I started with the twists, then ended up doing a fun little up-do, then pulled it back down and gave the remaining hair a little more texture. All super cute and super fun…..it’s just going to depend on the mood, outfit, activity, or how you feel your most confident. The twist can also change depending on how much you loosen it and make it bigger and/or more texture.
So, with that being said, I hope you enjoy the video, and I encourage you to play a little more with your hair to create some fun new styles! Happy summer my friends! Xx ! From hellotobeauty!
