The New Lip of Spring

Things are warming up outside and we are finally seeing blue sky and exchanging our faux fur for a lighter leather jacket.  I couldn’t be happier- even though it is tough for me to hang up the faux fur until next season.  There is something magic that comes when spring starts- a new beginning, a new awakening.  Your mind hits the restart button, you start making changes in your beauty routine, your eating routine, and your weekend routine.  As we start this new season, I want to keep you up to date on what you need to introduce (or re-introduce) back into your beauty regimen.  This fall/winter, I was crazy about the matte lip.  I couldn’t get enough of it.  Literally.  Like any trend I get obsessed with, I didn’t think it was possible to ever wear any other style lip.  The thought of lipgloss or shine made me laugh- there was no way these lips were going to gloss!

Then, as the days started to be longer and the sky started to show blue, I started to find that the products most worn on all of the spring campaigns, magazines, and launches were the long wear glossy lip.  I was first introduced to it by YSL- then noticed Loreal, Maybelline, and other brands had their version.  Trust me- I’m still warming up to the idea- being that I had such a strong love affair with the matte lip, but I’m also enjoying the feeling of change and newness.  What is impressive is now the fomulas for these products are long wearing- so you can get the benefits of a gloss, the color of a lipstick, but the longevity of a stain.  Here are a few favorites-

YSL Rouge Pur Couture

So retire your matte (for the moment) if you feel like updating your look for Spring….or add it into the mix of your beauty looks- Xx and Happy Spring!!
