The hunt is over ladies, I’ve found it!  The perfect sunscreen and primer from PCA!

I was introduced to this product from a new esthetician I recently had a facial with.  By the way as a side note: I think if you have the means or opportunity, it’s important to get into a facial a few times a year.  In a perfect world, I would love it if you could get on a regular monthly schedule for a facial, but if that is too much for you, just try to go as much as it’s in your budget or it’s possible.

ANYWAYS, when I finished up my facial with her, we got into talking about product.  Usually I’m pretty well covered with product so I don’t get too many after seeing an esthetician, but she totally called me out on something I wasn’t being consistent about…..sunscreen!

We all would agree that it’s tough to find A: a sunscreen that we like, B: a sunscreen that has all the proper ingredients in it, C: a sunscreen that doesn’t mess up our makeup, and D: a sunscreen that isn’t greasy.  Furthermore, it get’s confusing because it’s one more step, and I always get confused of when I’m supposed to do it.

Lynne (my esthetician) simplified it for me.  How about a sunscreen that is tinted, and also works as a perfect primer?  Brilliant!  I have been so happy with this product that I wanted to share it with you guys.  Basically she had told me that I was over moisturizing my skin, so if my skin wasn’t feeling dry I actually could just use the sunscreen directly after I wash my face.  If I had drier bits, I could add more moisturizer as needed, but if I didn’t need it, I shouldn’t over do it.  Well that tip just by itself has helped my pores look smaller as well, so who knew that I was over doing it!  This sunscreen barely has much coverage, so if you are having a great skin day or are just running errands or going to the gym, etc, it will give you a little bit plus protection from the sun and it has a really nice finish.  I’ve used it both ways: on it’s own, or I will use it before applying a tinted moisturizer or foundation over the top.  It doesn’t feel like you have anything on your skin when you put it on.  It’s great because it really does work well as a primer, and you can layer over the top easily without worrying about your makeup slipping, as most sunscreens usually do.

Here’s the three main ingredients in this sunscreen, and what you should be looking for when selecting your sunscreen:

  • Titanium dioxide – provides broad spectrum UV protection by reflecting, scattering and absorbing UV rays.
  • Zinc oxide – provides broad spectrum UV protection by reflecting, scattering and absorbing UV rays.
  • Ubiquinone (CoEnzyme Q10) – a potent antioxidant that fights free-radical damage.

The color is a universal tint that is suitable for most skin tones, (because it’s so lightweight), but truthfully with this product you will not feel like you are wearing sunscreen.  There are also no synthetic dyes or fragrances.  It’s water proof and has an SPF 45.

I could go on and on, but just know that I get my hands on a lot of things, so if I’m writing about it, it’s because I really love it.  If you ask an skin care expert what one of the most important products is, I guarantee they will all say that it’s sunscreen.  It’s what will keep us wrinkle and spot free…(or at least at a minimum compared to if we weren’t using it….) SO START USING SUNSCREEN IF YOU AREN’T ALREADY!  Ok, enough said, but get this product and enjoy! Xx
