SUN CARE: my favorite sunscreen to add to your SKIN CARE!

When I went away this summer for my holiday vacation, I knew I was going to be in the sun a lot.  It’s always the struggle.  We all love getting color, but we know deep down it comes at a cost.  If you ask any dermatologist or skin care expert what the worst thing is for your skin, they will tell you it’s the sun.  It’s the fastest way to age you.  EEEEEEKKKKK well that’s scary!  Not to mention all the other risks that come with it AKA SKIN CANCER….

So you could imagine the predicament.  Sun always makes you feel fresh, fit, and healthy, so it’s hard not to want to get some color.  Not to mention, depending on where you are vacationing, it’s hard to avoid the sun!  I decided to meet somewhere in the middle.

Without question: you won’t see me in the sun without sunscreen on my face NO MATTER WHAT, and always in a hat if I’m sunbathing specifically.  I try to keep a hat on as much as possible.  There is no question there.  I have to admit that after turning 30, the sun spots started to show up, and have kept on showing up, and getting darker as well.  At first I thought it was cute…..like freckles…..but now it’s starting to get a little bit annoying!

When I went to my dermatologist before traveling, he recommended a specific sunscreen for my face that he said he had great results with.  I was willing to invest my money into a great sunscreen because I care so much for the skin on my face, and didn’t want to put something on it that would possibly break me out or not protect my skin the way it needed to be protected.  It’s called Mesoestetic and I am IN LOVE!

About the Product
  • High protection, moisturizing sunscreen with sun filter to prevent photo-aging
  • Lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, helps reduce the appearance of age spots, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles
  • Glycerin helps draw water into skin to keep it hydrated and feeling soft.
  • Allow to penetrate completely before applying makeup
  • Effective sunscreen especially after cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, laser peels or microdermabrasions

Yes, yes, and YES!  It has been such a great sunscreen, and my skin has had no adverse effects since I’ve been using it.  I’ve used it by itself, with my other skincare products, and also before makeup.  It’s not greasy, and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all.  I love that it has lactic acid in it as well!  It’s also really light and absorbs into the skin quickly.

I bought it in office for $95…..BUT I see that it is on AMAZON for under $5o.  Guess I was the sucker for spending that much money, but it is worth it when I know I’m using a product on my face daily that is protecting it and not irritating it.  At least I know it’s here when it’s time to replenish!

Anyways my friends, just wanted to update you on what I’ve been loving as far as sunscreen goes.  For the body I kept at least an SPF 30 on at all times, and was using a brand called Sun Bum which I love!  It’s not greasy, and has the best smell ever!  I hope you all had a great summer and got a little holiday and sun time in as well, but remember……it’s all fun and games until you get a sunburn!  Make sure to protect yourself!  Xx
