Oh hi! So this week I posted a photo on Instagram that I didn’t really expect people to get excited about, and it got a lot of love so I decided to do something about it and make a video. Thank you for being excited and letting me know, because it inspired me to make something happen. GLITTER!
Of course I’ve been creating content on here for a while, but realized that I hadn’t made a video in a HOT MINUTE, and I apologize for that. Life can pick you up and spin you around a bit, and especially as a creative person it can be fun, hard, overwhelming, and all consuming.
I needed to take a quick break from videos to feel inspired again, and now am feeling it, so expect to see more coming your way.
Funny story about this picture is that I was working on a shoot that day with Rachel Zoe at her office, and took this photo in the ladies room. HAHA. I guess the light was hitting the glitter just right, and it ended up being a good photo. I didn’t want people watching me taking selfies in the office…..funny when you know the not so glamorous parts about how images are created.
Anyways, I have previously written about the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow, but now you can see it in action in a video. I have been doing pretty simple minimal makeup lately, and was in the mood for glitter that day so this is how this look was created.
I used to feel badly about making videos for you guys that didn’t use and abundance of products or didn’t show some cutting edge new “trendy” technique, but then I realized that that’s not why I do what I do. I want to inspire you, and maybe show you a little trick or two along the way that will positively impact your daily.
The images I’m showing here are the same makeup tutorial, but I subbed the lighter glitter for the black for night. Turned out pretty cool I’d say, and was SO easy. Literally same exact thing, but just a different color. (Today as I’m typing this I’m actually wearing purple….rebel rebel)! When it’s just one product, I’m way more likely to play and experiment with color because it’s so easy!
I went out the night that I did the darker glitter, and I think it’s great to see that you can easily transition your look from day to night just by choosing a darker shade. THAT’S IT! So simple!
Trust me that when you put a little glitter on your eyelids, you are bound to get a lot of compliments. People are just attracted to glitter. It’s a thing. Try it, you’ll see for yourself. With all of that being said, get ready for a long video, because I’m chatting my way through it with you. Talking skincare as of late, and what products I’m using on the daily. Fave mascara, fave SPF, and everything in-between. I hope you enjoy getting ready with me, and let me know what you think and if you like the new way that I shot it! X
