Something fun for this next spring! Check out this POP of colored eyeliner as seen backstage for the Nanette Lepore presentation this past fashion week. The look was created by my dear friend and talented artist, Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics. She named the look “Pop Art Princess”.
I gave the eye a pop art feel by using the smudge sticks and liquid liners in their full pigment- a little graffiti, a little DIY for that downtown girl.
The look was simple which I love, but carried HUGE impact. Here’s how they created the look:
I also was in LOVE with the hair created by John Master’s Organics. It was a low side part with sweeping fringe tucked in behind the ear. The rest of the hair was down with texture. The texture was not about being pretty or perfect, it was more about being carefree.
The nails were amazing and a new technique I had never seen before. It was one coat of black polish, and then white on the top to create the marbled look. The trick to creating this look was to basically wipe the white brush off until it was almost dry, and then smudge some across the nail. (See my second Snapchat video to see how they did it…..) Nails were done by Caption Polish. Super cool new brand (to me) that I hadn’t heard of before. It wasn’t a gel polish, but had a gel polish effect for sure. The black they used was only ONE COAT! Amazing!
Hope this can be some inspiration for you, it definitely gave me a new perspective on how to use color on the eyes in a fresh and modern way. And the HAIR…..love me a side part! Make sure to check out my second snapchat video to see this all in real time and to get a brief tutorial on how they did it! XO
